Date Night, Part 5
Deck 3, Mess Hall
"How much do you want to bet they'll be late?"
Jacob Taylor turned to the woman who'd just spoke. "Never known the Commander to be late for anything. In fact, she's almost always early."
"Maybe," Kasumi retorted, "but you've only seen Shepard when she was single. Two people together, they lose all track of time."
Jacob folded his arms and cast a glance at her. "Speaking from experience?"
Kasumi gave him a look of faux-innocence. "Why Mister Taylor, what ever could you mean?"
Jacob shook his head. "Like I said though, no chance Shepard's gonna be late."
Kasumi raised an eyebrow. "This certainty you have, c
‘Shepard? Yeah, she stormed out of the Normandy a while ago. If I knew you were looking for her, I could’ve told you sooner.’
“Shepard’s not on the Normandy. And we weren’t sure where to start looking.”
“She’s not?” Miranda frowned and turned to Liara. “Do you know where she could be?”
Liara looked at Miranda for a moment, then nodded when a thought came to mind. “I might.. I will go look for her.”
“Liara I didn’t-..”
“No, I know.” Liara smiled and gently placed her hand upon Miranda’s shoulder. “We’ll speak
The doors opened and Shepard walked out of the Normandy. She looked up ahead and saw a woman standing there.
She gulped, turned her head to look at Liara and smiled at her.
“Ready?” Liara smiled as their hands brushed against one another.
Shepard took Liara’s hand in her own and smiled warmly. “Ready.”
Liara blushed lightly and walked with Shepard towards the woman.
As Shepard and Liara walked closer to the woman, she stepped closer to them as well.
When Shepard was only two feet away from the woman she gently squeezed Liara’s hand before letting go of it.
She turned to look at the woman and she smil
Shepard had only just finished checking her terminal and laid down upon her bed.
She looked up at the stars through the window in the ceiling and let out a soft sigh as she listened to the music that played on the background.
It reminded her of the night she and Liara spent together in Anderson’s apartment on the Citadel.
Shepard had guided Liara towards the middle of the floor and wrapped her arm around her waist and took her hand in her own, lifting above their shoulders.
‘S-Shepard.. I don’t know how to dance..’
‘A shame.’ Shepard smiled as she leaned closer to peck Liara’s cheek. ‘I wil
“We’re on route to Earth now.”
“Alright.” Hackett nodded. “Shepard, you have my support in this.”
Shepard nodded and lowered her head a bit. “Thank you, Admiral..”
Hackett smiled as he looked at her and nodded. “Hackett o--..”
“One more thing, sir?” Shepard bit on her lower lip.
“Yes?”
“Could you patch me through to Rear Admiral Shepard?”
“She’s currently on Earth, I’ll tell her to meet you at the Docking grounds.”
Shepard frowned when she looked at him and nodded. “A-alright.”
“I’m sur
It was four days after Shepard had awoken from her coma and she was in her cabin on the Normandy.
But now, she was still asleep, her nightmare only just beginning.
There was nothing but darkness and silence as Shepard tried, but failed to move her body.
‘I hope things work out for you two.’
Shepard frowned when she saw a vague figure in the distance. She gritted her teeth and got up by great effort, only to find that the figure had disappeared.
She could hear an echo of the voice and in the distance the figure appeared again, turning to face Shepard.
Suddenly the figure came towards her at a running pace, yet disappeared whe
“As you can see, we’ve started on salvaging parts we can use. And we’ve cleared the least destroyed buildings, for those that stay here.” Hannah spoke to Liara as they walked through the streets.
“Do you have many wounded still?”
“Yes.” Hannah sighed and ran her fingers through her hair. “And numbers are only increasing.”
“I see.” Liara said as she looked up ahead and saw Shepard helping someone lift a large brick. “Goddess..”
Hannah blinked her eyes as Liara ran off to Shepard. She chuckled and walked after her.
“Shepard! You shouldn’t be doi
After returning to the Normandy, Shepard returned to her cabin and walked over to her terminal and turned on some music.
She grabbed herself a drink and sat down on the end of her bed.
Even though she had turned on the music, she was lost in thought once again.
‘A year..’ Shepard thought to herself and she rubbed her forehead before getting up. ‘If Liara can’t find them..’ She sighed and paced around the room.
“A year..” She mumbled and shook her head. “Dammit!!” She shouted and threw her glass against the bathroom door.
The glass shattered and spread across the floor.
Right then, th
